Supporting Mental Wellness on National Problem Gambling Survey Day

Raising Awareness

The KCS Mental Health Clinic observed National Problem Gambling Survey Day with meaningful initiatives aimed at enhancing mental wellness within our community. We actively distributed mental health handouts in both Korean and Mandarin, reaching individuals across Downtown Flushing, the Flushing Older Adult Center, and our headquarters in Bayside. These handouts provided valuable insights into recognizing and addressing mental health challenges, with a focus on the risks associated with problem gambling.

Encouraging Open Conversations

In addition to distributing educational materials, our team conducted Brief Biosocial Gambling Screen (BBGS) questionnaires. This initiative helped us engage directly with community members, sparking important discussions about gambling and its impact on mental health. Our primary goal is to foster an environment where open, supportive conversations thrive, guided by our comprehensive clinical services. Together, we’re committed to navigating the complexities of mental health, ensuring everyone has access to the support they need.
