Job Training

Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)​

We provide low-income, unemployed Asian American seniors with work-based job training at various departments within our organization through a federally funded senior paid training program. Participants engage in community service activities, gaining the work experience and skills they need to pursue unsubsidized employment opportunities. They also receive a variety of services including Individual Employment Plan development, job placement, training specific to their assignments, supportive services, and access to local American Job Centers. 

Participants will be paid a minimum $15 / hr in the training program, working 20 hours a week.

Eligibility:

  • Participants must be at least 55
  • Unemployed
  • Have a family income of no more than 125% of the federal poverty level
  • Must have permanent residency/citizenship or be authorized to work in the US

Career Readiness Program

We provide low-income, unemployed or working part-time Korean American seniors with work-based job training at various departments within our organization. Participants engage in community service activities, gaining the work experience and skills they need to pursue unsubsidized employment opportunities. They also receive a variety of services including Individual Employment Plan development, job placement, training specific to their assignments, supportive services, and access to local American Job Centers. We will provide workshops for office settings, and how to thrive in the workplace. English classes and business etiquette training will also be provided. Additional workshops will be held on resume writing, mock interviews, and the job search process. Through this program, we strive to open new career paths!

  • Ability to speak conversational English is preferred
